Commandment #9 - Be A Consultant, Not A Salesperson
My mother’s own “sales” practices had a huge impact on my own. Specifically she is not a sales person, she is a consultant.
There were many occasions when she would turn away clients, because they were not the right fit.
She looked deeply into their needs and provided them superior service to get her clients into the right home.
She worked countless hours on behalf of her clients; whatever it took to get the job done for them, not really thinking about herself.
Many clients became great friends. And she did not posture to gain new clients and prospects - new prospects and customers were referred to her by her many regular, repeat clients.
Next time you’re thinking about “selling”, think again. Think about being a consultant for your clients, instead.
